The Simple Practice for Feeling Better

Do you want to feel better – right away? Practice gratitude. Gratitude helps you feel good. How?

Gratitude helps you focus on what is good in your life.

Feeling good? Your thoughts are good – focused on what you appreciate, what you want. Not feeling so good? Your thoughts are focused on what you don’t want or don’t have. What you focus on grows.

Start to feel good by thinking better thoughts about your life. If you want more of the “good stuff” and good feelings – notice what you have already. Learn to want what you have – appreciate your abundance – to be happy. When you focus on what you don’t have – you will never have enough.

Start with gratitude.

Think of 3 things, people or situations you are grateful for now. Family, health, friends and work are all good places to start. Write those 3 things down. Think about them.

“I am so grateful for my wonderful family, my great friends, my health…” Keep positive, grateful thoughts running through your mind until you feel better.

When you focus on what you are grateful for, the fears (your negatives) go away. Why? Because your conscious brain can only focus on one thought at a time. Make it a good thought.

All happy thoughts include gratitude. Think about it. You are happy – grateful for the person, experience, opportunity, weather, your health.

Start now. Say, “I am so grateful for…,” “Thank you for…” and keep adding to your gratitude list. Write it down, say it out loud and talk to others about what is GOOD in your life.

Switch your focus (to gratitude), shift your energy (to positive), change everything (life is good).

Practice gratitude.
