The Way to Feel Better

Life can be painful and difficult these days. When the world seems to be filled with bad news, it can be challenging. It becomes easy for me to feel badly – a sign my thinking is off track. When you focus on all the lousy stuff you will feel lousy…

How then, do you feel better when you are surrounded by bad news?

Re-program your brain to “see” and “feel” a better vision by taking a time out. This will shift your thoughts, feelings and energy.

Right now – decide how you want to feel. Some options: peaceful, calm, happy.

Create a simple statement, “I am peaceful.” (Or calm, happy.)

  1. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in for 5, hold for 5 and exhale for 5. Do this 3 times. This is called “Box Breathing” and will relax you, lower your stress.

  2. Now see the happiest place you can imagine. The beach, a great vacation, a loved one who gives you great joy. Experience it all – hear the waves, feel the breeze, see their smile.

  3. Say, “I am peaceful,” or another calming, peaceful statement out loud or to yourself. Smile. Focus on feeling wonderful. Continue to experience this vision, adding as much detail as you like.

Focus on – see and feel what brings joy into your life. Then tune into your new reality as often as you can.

This is how you shift to feeling better – with new thoughts, new feelings. Peace.
